In 2018 and 2019, I curated an exhibtion at Woonwerkpand Tetterode, wrote two texts about typewriters: one in MacGuffin magazine and one in The Facit Model. I wrote about panoptism in L'Europe c'est Deutshland…, designed typefaces for Aimée Zito Lema's work 214322 and finished designing a book: Haus Atlantis by Karen Russo. I designed an online publication for Scriptings and re-designed the website of Kristina Benjocki.

These things have in common an interest for the history of graphic design. Why looking at the past? To learn something, of course, and to understand how this history is written. But also to try shift the focus towards somethings and someones that I find deserve our attention. To challenge linear and normative narratives by taking time to look, listen and read about people, techniques, materials that remain a bit obscure. Not to shed light on them, but rather to learn to see beter in the dark. Which is needed, if one wants to keep moving in this present.
